Name:
James Hickey
Job title:
CEO
Role at LSP:
Building an awesome team to package and scale Lifesize Plans around the world.
Brief description of your background:
Building and Construction background, helping visionary owners and boards shape and deliver their visions.
What does a day at LSP involve for you?
Heaps of energy and fun. During a scale up, you are growing the offering by learning and iterating. Defining what strategies, objectives, priorities, and timings are needed to deliver the companies purpose and vision. All while building systems, culture, and the right team to make it all happen. Not one day is the same.
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working at LSP?
I am an active person, my minds move’s that fast with work, I need hobbies that let me body do some work also. I am a nature lover; spending my time with family and friends outdoors; running, hiking, swimming, riding. As our two boys grow, we are looking forward to share this together as we merge all our passions together.
What inspires you or provide your favourite inspirational quote:
I love helping people realise their dreams. Seeing someone’s eyes when they realise, they can make them a reality is gold. I live for those moments. I have a bank of quotes I review monthly. They all provide a different spark, depending on my current situation. One that resonates is by Tony Robbins: “Success comes naturally when you stop thinking about what you want VS what others need” ALSO One from Mae West: “You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.”
What motivates you to do what you do here, and how you contribute to the customer experience?
I fell in love with the simplicity, yet power of what Lifesize Plans has to offer the world. My purpose is taking it to market by building an awesome customer focused team. A team who knows that our clients are the ones who will make it everything it can be; by utilising its services, providing feedback of how we can improve and making it happen. (repeating over and over)
If I weren’t so damn good at my job, I’d probably be….
Eternally traveling. Seeing new places, meeting new people, and experiencing new cultures.
If I won the lottery tomorrow, I’d start a company. And, you know, keep working here.
I would buy a LSP Franchise
The best piece of advice I’ve ever been given is……
Be in the present and listen. Always.
